Connect your AI tool
Speak with your words in Claude and other MCP apps.
With Pro, you can connect Flashfriend to Claude, ChatGPT, or any AI tool that supports MCP (the Model Context Protocol). Your AI tool can then see the words you’re learning.
What you can do
- Have spoken conversations at your level. Ask for a chat that sticks to the words you know, plus a few you’re learning.
- Practise this week’s words. “Let’s talk, using my words from this week.”
- Add words as you go. “Add the words I missed in this article to my Flashfriend Inbox.”
Your AI tool can’t change or delete your cards.
Setting it up
- Copy your link. In Flashfriend, open Settings › Chat with Claude or ChatGPT, make a link and copy it. It’s shown once: if you lose it, make a new one and turn the old one off.
- Add it to your AI tool.
- Claude: Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector. Name it Flashfriend, paste your link as the URL, then Add. Free Claude plans can add one connector.
- ChatGPT (paid plans, set up on chatgpt.com): Settings › Apps › Advanced settings › turn on Developer mode. Back in Settings › Apps, choose Create, name it Flashfriend, paste your link as the MCP server URL and pick No authentication.
- Ask for your words. Start a new chat and say “Let’s chat using only my known words.” Allow it to use Flashfriend when it asks.
- Talk out loud. Switch to voice mode and keep going. It fetches your words, then sticks to them while you talk.
To check it worked, ask “How many words do I know?” You should get the same number as your Home screen.
